There are many reasons for investing and living in Costa Rica.

Costa Rica is famous for its diversity, from beaches on two oceans to the hill country and mountains forming the spine of Costa Rica, and Lake Arenal, the largest in the country, in the north-central area.

Here you find many natural attractions; boating and fishing, hiking, and biking, bird watching and horseback riding, visiting our nearby therapeutic hot springs and more.

The convenience of a large city, complete with contemporary and diverse shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, and museums, can be found in San Jose, the Nation’s Capital, and in Liberia, the capital of Guanacaste.

For more than 30 years, North Americans and Europeans have been coming to vacation in Costa Rica. When they discovered that lush, biodiverse Garden of Eden and found out that it was also a very affordable and welcoming place, many came back to retire here or start a business.

Two international airports make access to Costa Rica from anywhere in the U.S. and Europe easy. Roads have improved markedly. Highspeed internet is available everywhere and new modern shopping centers offer many of the products and conveniences from home. The country also offers excellent health care and educational facilities for its residents and its native population.

The relaxed lifestyle here is contagious and according to the Happy Planet Index, Costa Ricans are the happiest people on the planet. They also have one of the highest life expectancies in the Americas.

The weather is great in the Arenal region, with a year-round temperate climate. If Lake Arenal were in the USA its shoreline would be overrun with developments and the Lake filled with powerboats and noisy jet skis, but here you find most homes tucked into the forest overlooking the lake from gently sloping hills. Life is relaxed in the "Pura Vida" manner. But, if you like outdoor activities there is plenty to do from water sports, fishing, hiking, horseback riding to visiting our hot springs with their healing waters and more.

As you can see, it is easy to fall in love with Costa Rica! The natural beauty of the land, the friendly people, its biodiversity, moderate temperature, its ecological awareness, and the peaceful nature of its government all combine to give Costa Rica a special identity in the Western Hemisphere. Over twenty-seven percent of the country is protected in National Parks and Conservation Easements, which has made Costa Rica an admired model for conservationists around the world. The area around Lake Arenal with its imposing Arenal Volcano at its eastern end is considered by many to be the crown jewel of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica today is still as beautiful and friendly as it was three decades ago...but today it's an even better place to live than it was then. There is ample evidence that Costa Rica will continue to grow its standard of living in the coming years and Marenal will be a part of it.

Just recently, International Living's  2021 Globel Retirement Index,

rated Costa Rica as the Number One Country!
