We are a small group of locals and expats collaborating to create a sustainable community here at Lake Arenal.
Our Project is a joint effort of a Costa Rican family with roots in the surrounding area, and a Bavarian-American immigrant, whose love for Costa Rica and Lake Arenal was the inspiration for this Community. Upon discovering Costa Rica more than a quarter-century ago, Franz was captivated by Lake Arenal’s majestic beauty and unspoiled tranquility. He saw not just a place to live but a canvas to create a community that embodies the essence of life itself.
Marenal is a visionary community in Costa Rica that epitomizes the ideals of Liberty, Peace, and the Pura Vida lifestyle, opening its arms to like-minded individuals and families seeking a self-sufficient way of living.
