Our Marenal Homes

All our homes are custom-designed and have features that reflect our ecological concept. Since we are familiar with the climatic conditions in our microclimate around Lake Arenal, our homes are properly oriented to take advantage of the best views and protection from less congenial weather conditions.

 

Maranel's construction delivers the highest-quality, most durable option at a reasonable cost  to our owners . We build with welded steel framing and fibre-reinforced exterior concrete wall panels. Steel framing is stronger and more flexible for seismic activity and requires little maintenance.

Roofs are made of insulated steel panels that provide excellent absorption of sound and minimise temperature. High-quality AC units are installed for humidity control and where possible, low-voltage electrical systems are implemented. Rainwater runoff from roofs are controlled with collection tanks. This water can be used for gardening and water features around the properties.

A battery backup system is available for our grid-tied roadside buildings. For off-the-grid interior properties, a comprehensive battery system has been designed for an entire house, supported by insulated LPG generators or solar panels. Internet connection is achieved either through fibre-optic cable or by satellite. 

 

The construction cost of our homes ranges from $1,000 to $1,200 per square meter. Custom features are an additional cost. 

 

What is included in the price of every home:

  2. Steel framing of walls, floor and roof.

  3. Insulated steel roofing.

  4. Exterior and interior wall boarding.

  5. Exterior and interior premium paint.

  6. Access and perimeter design.

  7. Floor covering, ceramic or stone tiles and wall tiles for wet locations.

  8. Terraces with ceramic or manufactured wood floors. 

  9. Glass panels and guard rails. 

  10. High-end doors and windows.

  11. Kitchen furniture and countertops (granite or quartz).

  12. Appliances (customer’s choice at extra cost).

  13. Sanitary fittings, sinks and toilets (customer’s choice at extra cost).

  14. Mechanical systems for water supply, drainage and electricity.

  15. Septic tank and soakaway. 

 

What is not included in the price:

  1. Landscaping, Plants, and Flowers.

  2. Custom-built furniture and closets.

  3. Bookshelves and electronic equipment.

  4. Window treatments and general furniture. ​
